Privacy Policy
Short version: your own audio files never leave your device, and we count simple usage such as which sounds get played, without accounts or names.
On your device
The site keeps your favourites, volume, play mode and custom board in your browser's local storage, a random visitor id used to group usage counts, and the audio files you add on the make-your-own page in IndexedDB. None of that is sent to us except the visitor id inside usage events. Clearing site data removes it.
Your own audio
Files you choose are decoded and stored in your browser only. They are never uploaded, and their names are never sent to us. The "Remove my sounds" button deletes them.
Usage events
When you use the site, your browser sends small events to our own server: a page visit, which built-in sound id was played or downloaded, whether you pressed Stop all, and how many of your own files you added (a number, not names). Each event also records the page path, the referring site's host, the country and a coarse device type (desktop, mobile or bot) provided by our host, and optional campaign tags in the address.
Feedback messages
If you use the contact form, we store your message, your optional email address and the page you sent it from, only to read and answer it.
Rate limiting
To block abuse we compute a one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a secret salt and keep it only as a request counter. We do not store your IP address next to usage events or messages.
Hosting, analytics and ads
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests and may provide privacy-friendly traffic statistics. We also use Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymous usage statistics. It sets cookies in your browser and receives the same kind of events described above (page views, built-in sound ids, counts), never your own audio files, their names, or your email address. The site does not run any advertising code at the moment, and it may show advertising in the future. If we add an ad network, it may set cookies or use similar technology, and we will update this page and provide the choices the law requires before it does.
Your choices
You can clear the data stored on your device at any time through your browser settings. To ask about anything else, use the contact page.
