What a custom soundboard is good for
A custom board puts exactly the sounds you need on one screen: the five effects for your quiz, your own intro jingle next to a buzzer, or a set of reaction sounds for a lesson. Because the buttons are plain keys with hotkeys, you can run it from the keyboard while you talk.
Your own files and copyright
Only add audio you have the right to use. This site never receives your files, so it cannot check them, and it does not offer famous clips. If you need sounds you can use freely, the 36 built-in ones are original and CC0; see the sound licence.
Where your board is kept
The board layout is saved in this browser's local storage and your files in IndexedDB. Clearing site data for this page removes both. A different browser or device starts empty unless you import an export file or open a share link.

How do I make my own soundboard?
Add sounds from the built-in library or choose audio files from your device, rename and colour the buttons, set a hotkey for each one, and use the board right on this page. It is saved on this device automatically.
Do you upload my own audio files?
No. Files you add on the make-your-own page are decoded in your browser and stored in IndexedDB on your device. They are never sent to the server, and share links cannot contain them.
Can I share my soundboard with someone?
Yes, with a link. The link stores only the built-in sound ids, your button names and colours. Sounds you added from your own files are left out, because they exist only on your device.
What audio files can I add, and how big can they be?
Any audio file your browser can play, such as MP3, WAV, OGG or M4A. Each file can be up to 5 MB and you can keep up to 30 of your own sounds. A board holds up to 60 buttons in total.
How do I remove the files I added?
Press "Remove my sounds" in the section about your own files. It deletes every file this site stored on your device and takes them off the board.
Can I move my board to another device?
Use Export board to save a small JSON file and Import board on the other device. The export has built-in sounds only; your own files cannot travel with it.
